Ashna Lulla
I am a Toronto-based interior designer, writer, and creative consultant with a wealth of experience cultivated in reputed design studios in India. I transitioned into independent design in 2020, fuelled by my profound passion for authentic, well-crafted spaces and clever details.
In December 2022, I celebrated the release of my debut book, "With Love, Madras," which opened doors for me to contribute into prestigious publications such as Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and LivingEtc as well as international platforms like Clever and Azure Media.
Most recently, I have been staging and curating social media for Rutherford Design, Toronto. As an interior designer, I have also started to help couples and families in Toronto and around the world (via remote consults!) bring their dream homes to life.
On days off, I enjoy exploring uncharted neighbourhoods with my husband, scouring flea markets and vintage stores, or cooking and hosting elaborate dinner parties.
Philosophy
With nearly a decade of design experience and a recently honed editorial voice, I thrive at the intersection of my dual passions: designing and writing about spaces and how they work their magic on people. Central to my design ethos is a love of colour, pattern, texture and a strong desire to create spaces that feel lived-in and timeless, infusing joy into the everyday lives of those who inhabit them.
Experience
With a multidisciplinary background spanning architecture, interior design, and design journalism, I seamlessly transition between creative and technical roles.
