Eager to honour her late grandmother’s legacy and embark on a new chapter together, young newlyweds revitalised their grandmother's 1500 sq. ft apartment. The renovation not only gave the apartment a new lease of life but also symbolised a fresh beginning in the couple’s life. They aspired to create a home that exuded joy while paying homage to the apartment’s distinctive features, notably its rare mosaic flooring. Timeless details like teakwood window portals, matte-black tiled flooring, and egg-white painted walls helped anchor the home while drawing attention to views of swaying coconut palms and mango trees outside. A mid-century palette, subtly interwoven with blue, green and red accents, created a deeply personal, light-filled sanctuary.

Artworks can make or break a designed dining room, and this striking red painting by contemporary Indian artist HR Das was a wedding gift to the couple. Beneath it, a custom teakwood sideboard with fluted shutters is decorated with artefacts and candles from their travels.
